Security Driving 

Some clients think that it is enough to contract any personal protection professional and ask him to drive the interested party around to be considered fully protected. Unfortunately, it is not a right attitude.

Our security drivers are all highly trained advanced drivers at OJT Investigations Group. Our security driver service at OJT Investigations Group allows your journeys to be completed with full peace of mind due to the exceptional calibre of driver. Security drivers can be provided as a stand-alone service within a private household, corporation or a high-profile event. Or integrated as part of a greater security package which may include; close protection or residential security. 

Residential Security

Whether as a single protection Officer or as a larger team of two or more, a residential security team can offer peace of mind to a family in residence. At OJT Investigations Group, we can provide that peace of mind for you.

The role forms one part of the responsibilities of a Close Protection team. However, some families do not feel vulnerable in their daily routine but realise that their home can make them a target for burglary because it identifies them as a family of considerable wealth. This can be amplified for well- known or Celebrity families because they have the added concern of media attention and attempted penetration by intrusive journalists looking for the big scoop. The Residential security team can be employed in isolation if Close protection is not deemed necessary.

There are more Residential security teams employed in Australia than Close protection teams because unless a family is considered celebrity, under a specific threat or holds a Political or Royal position, Australia is a relatively safe place. All of OJT Investigations Group officers are qualified as Close Protection Officers and could be employed as such should it be required.

The management of residential security requires a robust rotational shift system that requires at least 3 protection Officers to maintain. To ensure compliance with the work place health and safety act, one officer should not work more than a 12 hour shift. Therefore, one officer on days, one on nights and one resting is the minimum staffing requirement. This can be amended if the home only requires protection at night when the family are home.

A residential security team must operate with sound operating procedures and assignment instructions that clearly identify their role and responsibilities. OJT Investigations Group not only sources RST officers but implements the entire operational system ensuring that they understand what actions are appropriate in an event such as an intrusion or fire.

If the management of an RST internally is not viable, OJT Investigations Group has the capability to place, manage and source replacements for leave and absence if it suits the household. This service will be provided as a temporary placement invoiced monthly in advance. The operational set- up of an RST and the management service is rarely offered in the Household staffing industry. OJT Investigations Group’s in-house security capability is what enhances the security services.

It is a legal requirement for a Close Protection Officer to be licenced by the Security Industry Authority (SIA) but many of our CPOs have trained extensively with the Military or Police and performed Protection roles in that capacity.

Our CP officers are selected as much for their people skills and emotional intelligence as their capabilities. OJT Investigations Group security is considerately allocated especially if there are children in the family. Having an intimidating security officer inside the sanctuary of the home can be scary for a child and so the officers we select will be personable and comfortable interacting with children. Their dress code can be altered to make them less formal to help children adjust to their presence.

Typical responsibilities and duties of a CP Team

• Responsible for the security integrity of the estate and residence
• Control of all access into the estate/ residence including deliveries and workmen
• Daily logging of staff arrival and departure in order to maintain a fire register
• 24/7 Monitoring of CCTV, Fire and alarm systems
• Patrolling and security checks
• Coordination of security reactions to attack
• Coordination of evacuation in the event of a fire
• Lock down procedures at night/ open up procedures in the morning
• Emergency planning and coordination
• Event security and guest reception (Larger teams only)
• Search trained
• Intruder intervention
• Asset protection including cars, fine art and bloodstock.
• Ability to anticipate the needs of the Principal and plan accordingly
• Adaptable to the dress and occasion as appropriate to the Principal
• Experience in the delivery of a discreet, confidential and unobtrusive service.
